Mr. Devaraj, Secretary of Yedahally WUCs in Bhadra Command Area explaining the intricacies of water charges collection successfully carried out by them. The separate bill book (kind of pass book) for water charges is printed which gives details of the farmer, land holding, actual area and crop irrigated and extent of water charges to be paid and paid. Mr. Shekarappa, chairperson and the board of directors of this WUCs express that the regular meetings, transparency and consistency in attending to the problems of the irrigators enable build confidence among farmers on WUCs. In addition, frequent support from the irrigation department and enabling powers to WUCs from the government fills energy to WUCs to carry out any task in water management. Mr. M. Kubendrappa, Secretary of Gudamaghatta WUCs also confirms the above views.
